Fatigue management training

The online fatigue management training for commercial vehicle drivers is managed by the Safety Education team at the Department of Energy, Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety.

Learning to manage fatigue plays an important role in keeping commercial vehicle drivers and other road users safe. The online fatigue management training aims to create awareness of the impact fatigue can have on commercial vehicle drivers and on other road users.

This fatigue management training will also assist a person conducting a business or undertaking, person with management and control of a workplace, or principal contractor at a workplace with commercial vehicle drivers to develop a driver fatigue management plan and comply with the commercial vehicle operating requirements of the Work Health and Safety (General) Regulations.

Commercial vehicle drivers and persons conducting a business or undertaking also have duties to ensure workplace health and safety under the Work Health and Safety Act 2020 and Regulations.
